Shiva Metin2 Offizielle News: Neueste Events und Patchnotes

DevBlog #3

vor 4 Jahren
Hello everyone,

Welcome to the third DevBlog from Shiva. The distance to the last DevBlog was a bit bigger this time, but we have accordingly also mastered larger features. Let's briefly review the goals of the last DevBlog before we reveal the new goals.

1. Ingame Wiki

A big goal of the last DevBlog was the completion of the ingame wiki. We have finished the system. However, the entries in the wiki are not finished yet. That still takes a while.

2. Quality of Life

We have reworked a lot of small things like the Anti-Exp ring, which is no longer an item but a button in your taskbar. This was only one of many QoL features, there are many more such details, which we have reworked. To name all of them now would go beyond the scope of this DevBlog. So let us surprise you when you start our client for the first time. :)

3. Dungeons

We have finished the work on all dungeons. A total of 7 dungeons are waiting to be explored by you for the release. 3 more have also been completed for the 2 planned content updates.

Every single dungeon has received at least one major rework from us, so that they are hardly similar to the original. The Demon Tower, as an example, has been expanded by several stages. The Beran-Setaou was also designed quite differently and is also no longer a global room but a separate instance for each player/group.

With the keyword group it also goes directly further. All dungeons can be entered solo as well as in a group. The loot is always adapted to the solo player. If you are not strong enough, it is worth searching for a group. However, if you are strong enough, you should also complete these dungeons solo.

Since some of our dungeons have been heavily reworked or are even our own creations, we have created a quest line for each dungeon. This quest line will take you to and through each dungeon. Tips are given on how to most easily tackle the various bosses or how the mechanics of the dungeon are set up. At the end of each quest lines there is also a unique souvenir as a reward.

Last but not least, we come to the dungeon board. All of our dungeons are connected by the dungeon board. This offers many different features, which we will announce later. But the most important one: you can teleport to any dungeon and see your cooldowns on the respective instances.

At the end we want to talk about what our next steps are..

The next big work are the passive skills. We're going to change the old ones and come up with new passive skills to give you even more variety. We already have a rough plan how these should look like, but we are not averse to ideas from you. If you have any ideas, feel free to post them in suggestions in our discord. We will definitely respond to them! :)

We thank you for reading this DevBlog and look forward to the future with you! ♥

Hello,

First we want to talk about the last DevBlog. In the last DevBlog we talked about implementing more quests and multiple quest types.
Since the last DevBlog, we have added a total of 51 new quests, divided into 4 different categories. The rewards for them are always adapted to the respective level and are really worthwhile.

We have worked a lot on Shiva in the last weeks. We can not tell you every progress, many things should also remain a surprise in the official presentation, but some of the points we would like to mention here.

1. Multifarm-Block

Yes, you read correctly. The Multifarm Block has found its way to Shiva. We thought about it for a long time but in the end it would be best for the economy, the community and the whole project to include such a multifarm block. You can farm on a maximum of 2 characters at a time, the third character will not receive any drops. However, you can freely choose which characters of you that are online, may drop.

2. Our new Mount and Pet System

We have finished our new mount/pet system in the last few days. This includes temporary and permanent mounts/pets. During the game you have the possibility to improve your mounts/pets constantly. There are 4 levels in total. Each additional level allows you to choose another bonus that your mount/pet will receive. So at the end every player will have a perfectly adapted mount/pet. However, this will be a lot of work, so reaching the highest level of a mount/pet is something special. You will find more information about this in our server introduction in the future.

3. Ranking points

long story short: We've given the respective ranks their own bonuses. Collecting rank points is worth it!

4. Our discord!

We have created a news section for each language to improve communication between the team and the community. Unfortunately, we can only provide translations in languages where we have already found translators. However, with time, we hope to find 1-2 reliable translators for each language. English is the main language, which is managed by the admin team.

At the end, let's talk about what our next steps are..

Of course, we continue to focus on creating new varied quests. However, besides this main goal, we have another one. Since the possibilities and features of this project have increased, it is massively important to pick up each player where understanding leaves off. We have decided to create an ingame wiki, with all the necessary information, guides, and explanations of existing systems. The work on it has already started.

Thanks for reading our DevBlog

Hello,

this is our first Dev-Blog. In this blog, we want to give you a short intermediate about the development of Shiva and what we are currently working on.

First of all, we would like to talk about the official launch, which was originally planned to be in December. This, as most have already noticed, cannot be kept. We have finished the basic concept of Shiva, but we are not completely satisfied with the result. Shiva should not become a niche project, but THE place to go for all those players who love oldschool and its wonderful atmosphere.

The question is: What do we want to change and will we change?

1. The last community vote was not representative, but it shows us the direction we should take regarding quests.

We want to include many different quests, which should add variety to the gameplay. This includes several different quest types, such as hunting quests, story quests, gathering quests, procurement missions, class-based quests. Our goal is to add more depth to the project.

2. We want to get away from the normal quick progression of the game through dungeons.

Most of the dungeons in the original game are unimaginative and are run only once or even skipped, in the badest situation. We want to change that a bit by changing the dungeons or adding new ones. Certainly the Demon Tower or something like the Beran Dragon will still be there, but possibly slightly changed. We want to take care of new dungeons, which should characterize the low level area. And what is very important to us: We want every dungeon to have a right to exist and a purpose. Exact and final plans for each dungeon have not yet been determined, but they are being worked on.

3. Likewise, as in the last point mentioned, we want to change somewhat the dynamics of the game. Most servers are focused on fast progress and partially skipping some level areas.

Especially in a project that aims for the maximum level of 99, the low level is just as important as the high level. Only if the low level area is interesting and varied, we can keep players who then later move to the high level area. For this reason, we will be making fundamental changes to the mount, pet, and costume systems. With this, we want to provide a permanent possibility where you can improve or upgrade something for your own progress.

4. Conclusion of all

In the end it has to be said that we still want to remain an oldschool project. We want to create, also together with you, a project that offers months of fun and variety. We do not want to be a small distraction for 3 weeks but we want to be the main game of the user. Metin2 is an old and decaying game, but it has a lot of potential to make it better than the original. After years of this game, we know what would have been important and this is the path we want to turn in. However, this takes time, especially with a small team, which we are only. We cannot promise when the project will be completed for the official launch. We can only promise you that it will be a great final product and we hope to share this with as many as possible.

On behalf of the whole team, thank you for reading this dev blog and for supporting the project ♥️

We will not disappoint you!
