DevBlog #15 - Our plans for the upcoming update

We want to make some changes to the way we work and communicate with you, and we would like to try out this approach here. From now on, we will use the DevBlog to share information about the upcoming update that is directly ahead, rather than discussing plans for the next few months. Over longer periods of time, details and plans can change frequently, which can make early information outdated. We hope you enjoy this new way of communicating and that it provides you with more accurate and relevant updates.

Elite Arena (Lowlevel)

We want to finalize the Elite Arena for low-level players. At the moment, we will most likely limit the boss selection to those whose elemental requirements can realistically be met by low-level characters. This means the pool of available bosses will be slightly smaller to ensure a fair experience. Low-level players should not be expected to build every elemental resistance, as that simply is not feasible at this stage of the game. If we come up with a better solution during development, we may revise this approach.

Changes to the Elite Arena (Highlevel)

For the High-Level Elite Arena, we are considering changing several bosses into a new 3d model. The question is whether this is something the community actually wants, so we will be holding a poll to gather your feedback. In practice, this would simply mean replacing some of the older bosses with new ones. Their race bonuses and elemental attributes would remain unchanged. Only their appearance and 3D models would be updated to provide more visual variety. This would make the bosses in the High-Level Elite Arena look more powerful and intimidating than the standard boss models used in the Low-Level Elite Arena. It would also better reflect the progression between the two, with higher-level content featuring more impressive and imposing bosses. We would only make these changes if the poll shows that this is something the community wants.

Just as a small example; The current Flame Lord could be replaced with a model like this. Its element would remain exactly the same. Only its appearance would change. As a result, you would not need to adjust your equipment.

New Dungeon for Low level

With the introduction of the Low-Level Arena, we would also like to add a new dungeon designed for players around level 55. Since one of the official maps, "Snakefield" is currently not integrated into our concept, we would like to fill this gap with a dedicated dungeon. This dungeon will also take over and represent the theme of the missing map. Additionally, we want to further strengthen the level 55 PvP environment and make this level range more engaging. This dungeon is a perfect opportunity to support that goal.

We can already give you a small spoiler and reveal that this dungeon will require Fire Resistance as well as Strong against Mystics. This means the dungeon will tie into the Esoteric Temple progression, as Crystal Equipment and Jade Shoes will remain useful and relevant for this content.

New Equipment and Pet Egg for Low Level

As mentioned above, the new dungeon will of course come with its own loot. Since this dungeon is designed with PvP players in mind, it will introduce new equipment tailored specifically for the level 55 PvP scene and the Low-Level Elite Arena. One of the most requested additions is finally becoming a reality: a low-level belt similar to the Fighter Belt. In addition, we are planning a new shield as an upgrade to the Black Round Shield, as well as a light variant of the Titan Shield. A new helmet for the level 55 range will also be introduced.

These additions will bring level 55 PvP characters a step closer to their higher-level counterparts, allowing them to further specialize and clearly establish their PvP-focused builds. At the same time, this equipment will provide new progression goals and make tackling the Low-Level Elite Arena bosses more accessible.

As an additional prestige reward, this dungeon will also offer a chance to obtain a new Pet Egg. Similar to the Monkey Pet, this pet can reach a maximum level of 80. This way, not every player will have to rely on the Monkey as their main pet, allowing for more variety and individuality.

A minor balance adjustment

Some time ago, we adjusted the overall PvM balance for all classes. These changes were very well received, but after observing the game for a longer period of time, we identified the need for some further adjustments.

The main focus here is Shamans. At the moment, they deal similar damage in pvm to a Body Warrior while benefiting from a significantly faster attack animation. Based on strong community feedback, we will review this balance and make some targeted adjustments where necessary.

The Bow Ninja also stands out in PvP, so we will take another look at this class as well to determine whether any changes are required.

As a small side note before a war breaks out: We are only talking about minor adjustments and fine-tuning here, not a complete rebalancing of the classes. These are common balance changes that become necessary over time when a clear meta develops and class diversity starts to suffer.
