Metin2 leveling guide: plan your progress to level 99 on Shiva
EXP is only one part of progression
Shiva's level cap is 99. Reaching a higher level and being ready for its content are different goals: equipment, skills and completed progression tasks also matter. Begin each session with one target, such as the next level, an equipment upgrade or a dungeon requirement. Do not copy an official-server route without checking Shiva's own rules and content.
Your first session: equipment and available quests
Inspect the items your character actually receives and any expiry times. The presentation describes basic +6 starting equipment, but its launch packages are not a guarantee of every current reward. Read the available quest board entries and choose a task that you can complete with your present equipment. Open the wiki with H when an item or upgrade requirement is unclear, and keep essential consumables available before moving on.
Choose where to level with a controlled comparison
Test two reachable areas for equal periods. Write down your starting and ending EXP at the same character level, along with travel, deaths and consumable use. If you gain a level during the test, split the measurement at that point: percentages across different levels are not directly comparable because the amount required for a level may differ. A tougher enemy is not automatically a better target if kills and recovery take much longer.
Use dungeon requirements as checkpoints, not an EXP promise
Open F6 and check each dungeon's current level range, entry conditions, time limit and solo or group information. The server presentation shows examples such as the Small Monkey Cave, Demon Tower, Wu-Kong's Temple and Beran's Dragon Chamber, but it describes a historical content state. A listed dungeon is not automatically the best leveling location. Follow the current board for access and use actual session results to decide whether the attempt serves your goal.
Keep equipment and the Biologist alongside leveling
When enemies take too long or repeatedly defeat you, identify the missing requirement instead of simply pushing to a higher map. Look up target characteristics and the next upgrade recipe. Use F11 to review Biologist submissions, progress and the next delivery time. Check these systems at the beginning or end of a session so progression does not depend on remembering every task while farming.
Solo or group: compare what each player gains
A group can make some activities accessible, but do not assume a fixed EXP benefit from a guide for another server. Agree on a target, roles and loot handling first. Compare your own progress and time spent waiting or reorganising with a solo session. Check the game's current group information rather than using an unverified percentage or party formula.
When progress slows down
Review one cause at a time: active quest, suitable target, equipment condition, skills, consumables and any current event bonuses. Read the latest announcements if the behaviour changed after an update. For a technical problem, record the map, character level, time and what happened. This guide provides a leveling method, not a guaranteed number of hours to 99 or an unverified map-by-map route.
