Metin2 Yang farming guide: targets, costs and selling on Shiva

Start with a useful item, not a promised Yang rate

A good farming target supplies something you need or something other players actually buy. Choose an upgrade material, a Biologist requirement or another clearly identified item. Use the in-game wiki with H to check the item and its upgrade requirements, then inspect target information for drops and resistances. A drop listed for an enemy is not a promise that every kill will produce it.

Three activities worth comparing

Metin farming lets you test repeated encounters and the materials they produce. Dungeons are another option once your character meets their requirements; include the whole attempt, not just the final boss, in your comparison. Mining and fishing are additional systems described in Shiva's presentation. None is automatically the best income source: demand, your equipment, access and the time spent finding targets all affect the result.

Run a small, repeatable farming test

Choose two accessible targets. Give each the same amount of play time and keep your equipment and active bonuses comparable. Record travel, searching, combat, failed attempts and inventory management. Note direct Yang, useful materials, consumables spent and any entry costs. Repeat the test before making a large purchase; one unusually lucky drop can distort a short session.

Separate cash income from unsold inventory

For realised net income, add Yang collected and completed sales, then subtract the costs attributable to that session. Unsold items are inventory, not confirmed earnings. Example only: collecting 1,000,000 Yang and completing 2,000,000 Yang in sales with 500,000 Yang of costs gives 2,500,000 Yang net. This arithmetic example is not a Shiva drop rate or earnings forecast. To compare sessions, divide net income by total hours, including the time spent selling.

Use shop search carefully

Shiva's global shop search opens with F7. Compare the same item, upgrade level, bonuses, quantity and remaining duration. A listing is an asking price, not proof of a completed sale. Check your own sales history where available and price stock according to actual demand. Before selling, separate items reserved for your character's upgrades or Biologist tasks so you do not have to buy them back later.

Improve the bottleneck rather than everything at once

If deaths consume most of the session, review the target's attacks and your defensive setup. If travel and searching dominate, compare a more reliable route. If inventory remains unsold, reconsider the item and asking price before increasing production. Before a dungeon, use F6 to inspect its entry conditions and solo or group information. Check any farming limits and server rules before adding more characters; external automation and third-party Yang trades must not be assumed permitted.

What this guide can and cannot promise

This method helps you compare activities with your own character. It does not provide a fixed best map, guaranteed profit or current market price. Drop tables, events, player demand and character strength can change. Keep your measurements dated and recheck the source information after updates. Use the website support area for a missing item or disputed transaction, with the character and relevant time.
